Happy Mother’s Day to all my female friends and family out there! It’s a day to feel special and proud of our accomplishments for sure. I will always be thankful for the kind, loving and generous Mom I had. She guided and mentored me to be the woman I am today. She would be proud of the family that continues to grow and enjoy life’s journey in her memory. Miss you dearly Mom,
I am so lucky to call myself Mom to two beautiful children. I am blessed daily to live across the street from my daughter. She is an AMAZING Mom and daycare provider. Together with her hubby Jeff, they are raising two incredibly loving grandchildren. Maddy and Owen, being your Nana is the best thing ever! This layout was based on a Mother’s Day picture from last year. Still brings smiles to my face everytime I look at it! Love you so much Lindsay!
Our son lives out West. He is posted to Edmonton in the military. Sean, not a day goes by that I don’t say thanks for your commitment and service to our country. You listened to me growing up and followed my guidance when I told you to follow your passion in life! I am grateful for all you bring to our lives, and proud of the life you are building with Megan. This layout is one of several that feature Sean in a new kit that will arrive shortly at Younique.
You can see I have much to smile about today and everyday! My heart is bursting with love for you all.
It’s the last day of April and I’m gearing up for lots of “Fun in the Sun” this summer! Summer is a special time for us. A chance to return to our family cottage on the Severn River. I was so fortunate to spend my summers growing up on the Severn, and also fortunate to let my children do the same. Now I am blessed to share that experience with my grandchildren. There’s really nothing quite like reliving it through the eyes of a child!
Bella BLVD’s “Fresh Market” papers are an excellent backdrop to showcasing the highlights of our last summer up north. Our cottage is boat access only, and Maddy and Owen love to go out in the boat every single day. One of their favourite boat rides is to travel down to the marina and get ice cream. What could be better on a hot summer day?!
This double page layout will teach you a new technique with floss. The combination of patterned papers and die cuts, give this layout a light, airy, and fun feel. The kit makes use of many stickers, including many border stickers and lettering.
“Today is a Happy Day” pretty much sums it all up. Two playful die cut scalloped borders and colourful floss help compliment the feel of this page. This just makes me want to go out and play!
The last page in this kit continues to emphasize having fun outdoors. Paper and sticker borders are utilized once again, including the use of the stems for the pinwheels. Pinwheels just call you to come and play outside – so take some time to document your “fun in the sun”, and enjoy the results for years to come!
This kit and more are available at Younique and Too Younique! Watch out for more kits coming soon. Lots of great things in the works!
I just finished preparing my Easter baskets for our two wonderful grandchildren. Thought I’d share the cards I made to put in their baskets. Have I mentioned how much I LOVE my Silhouette? These bunnies are just adorable. Hope Maddy and Owen enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them. Happy Easter everyone!
The Echo Park “Little Man” collection designed by Lori Whitlock is a winner. I had so much fun working with this line and of course highlighting some favourite pictures of our grandson Owen!
This bright bold red background was the perfect patterned paper for our little man and his blue raincoat and green boots. The world is just full of mystery and discovery for little boys, and Owen is no exception. ALWAYS running and exploring, this little boy keeps us on our toes. I made use of lots of stickers from this collection, added some green enamel dots and stitched an outline around the larger stars for a little more dimension.
Next up, another bold one page layout featuring lots of patterned paper in this line.
To enhance the pie chart, I used more of the blue and white twine and multiple stickers. The “he’s all boy” title is die cut right into the background paper and backed with white for impact. This picture of Owen was taken in 2014, and perfectly fit the feel of this page.
And lastly, for something a little softer and dreamier, another one page layout totally focused on the star theme. These two star papers from the collection really inspired this design. You may have noticed that the cut out star from the top blue paper, was utilized in the two page layout featured earlier. The stitching theme was carried throughout all 3 pages, but you could easily modify by using a marker if stitching just isn’t your thing. The layout was completed with a fitting die cut title, also included in your kit.
The Little Man kit, and others are available now at Younique, Too Younique and Younique Scrapbooking and Crafts, the newest edition in Mount Forest. Go check it out!
For all of those with a special little man in their life! Echo Park’s “Bundle of Joy Boy” papers and stickers will help you commemorate this special time in your life.
The “It’s a Boy” kit closely mimics the “It’s a Girl” kit with a few subtle changes. Both kits use multiple stickers, but you will also find you have many left over to keep designing and documenting this special time.
Both kits come with the word “Baby” cut out, and multiple digitally cut embellishments already cut and ready for assembly. The kits also include the cut out letters for “Baby” to give you a head start on a baby page of your own.
This little one will be turning 3 next month. Owen you are so special and we couldn’t imagine our lives without you. Your hugs are quite simply, the BEST!
Both baby kits are exclusive to Younique and Too Younique. Get yours today!
I’ll have to confess right up front. I LOVED making these next two kits! There’s something extra special about babies, especially when they’re your grandchildren. Cuddling with a newborn is just heavenly. A time to push the hustle bustle of life aside and really appreciate the miracle of life.
This 4 page kit is all about celebrating that new baby girl in your life. Whether you’re the Mom, Nana, Grandmother, Aunt or special friend, these pages will help you preserve these precious memories in your life.
Echo Park’s “Bundle of Joy Girl” papers and stickers are the perfect backdrop to document that little girl in your life. This kit includes several extra special digitally cut embellishments to complete your layouts.
What are you waiting for? Show your little one just how special she is. Time flies so fast. In just 10 short days, this beautiful baby girl will be turning 5! Loving every minute with you sweet Maddy!
This is the second 2 page layout from Echo Park’s “Anything Goes” collection. This layout and the previous “This Moment” layout comprise the full kit. These fun summer papers were the perfect backdrop to create a layout featuring my daughter and her beautiful family. We are blessed to spend so much time together. Our favourite place to be is the family cottage. It is our retreat, our place to play, and our place to share with family and friends. It has provided the setting to live, laugh and love to generation after generation.
These pages reflect spring and summer moments at the cottage. You can see from the pictures that Maddy and Owen have also fallen in love with our special place. They love everything about the cottage (well maybe not the bugs so much). Especially the chance to play, play, play with Mom, Dad, Nana, Bampa and any other family members and friends that join us.
What’s your special place? Where do you get together with family and friends to live, laugh and love? Use this kit to capture your special moments. Available at Younique and Too Younique!
It’s been a while since I posted, but I’ve been very busy and have lots to share! This is the first 2 page layout of a 4 page kit using Echo Park’s “Anything Goes” line. I immediately fell in love with the camera patterned paper and embellishments.
I find it a major challenge to take photographs of my grand kids where they are close to looking at the camera. I’m rarely aiming for that specific shot: but come on, at least let me see your face! While vacationing this past summer I hit the jackpot – a decent picture where they BOTH looked up and smiled. Simply AMAZING! Thank goodness for the digital age, and the ability to take hundreds of pictures that ultimately result in a handful of good ones.
But like any other obsessed scrapbooker, I often hang on to most of the extra pictures. Together, they all tell a story. A story of love, love, love and a lot of fun in this journey called life. I decided to use this layout to highlight not only my favourite photo of the day, but all the others that kept us laughing. Make sure you capture it all – the good, the bad and the ugly. Embrace it all. I have a few Facebook friends that have been digging up some of those old and forgotten memories of our past together in public school. While I initially cringed at how I looked in some of those pictures, you can’t deny the fun and love we shared growing up. Warms the heart, especially on these cold winter days!
So here’s to making memories and preserving it for your loved ones.
It’s getting close to Christmas! Time to start preparing and getting ready. The preparation is just as much fun as the big day! Be sure to take pictures of your activities and celebrations along the way. What better way to preserve and personalize your memories than scrapbooking them?
BoBunny has you covered with their incredibly beautiful Sleigh Ride line of papers and products. I had a tough time choosing which papers to work with. You really can’t go wrong with this release.
This kit includes 4 single page layouts and 4 cards. The Noteworthy package of cut outs really takes these layouts to the next level. Top it off with some laser cut snowflakes and an exquisite washi tape and you’ll love the results!
I really enjoyed the rustic feel and look to this line. Each page provided the opportunity to highlight different holiday moments in time.
There’s so many creative opportunities with this paper line. You’ll find plenty of reasons to send out cards to friends and family members this winter. Four cards are included in the kit to get you started.
Enjoy the holiday season and then preserve those great memories for years to come! This kit is coming soon to Younique and Too Younique!
I make approximately 150 cards throughout the year between, birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine’s Day, Christmas, special occasions, or just simply to brighten someone’s day. I really enjoy the process of working on a card specific for the person and personality it’s going to.
Recently our daughter and her family moved into a new home. Actually, an older home that needed a lot of renovations before they could move in. That meant they were in between homes for a few weeks. Not an easy thing for a young family to manage. So when they recently got to the stage of living in their new home (reno in progress!) I wanted to make it special.
This is the card I made for the whole family, Mom, Dad and kids:
The stamp comes from the Unity Stamp Company. I purchased it several years ago, but it seemed the perfect occasion to christen it. Some simple colouring with water colour pencils and brightly striped background paper completed the front.
I wanted to send cards to each of our grandchildren (Maddy – 4 and Owen – 2). What’s more exciting then getting mail, especially to your NEW home! Maddy’s card was made using Simon Says stamping products; You Have My Heart (stamps and matching dies), and Circle Sayings. I stamped the “Love You’ circle on the cardstock and then used a circle die to cut out the centre. The open centre was backed with My Favorite Things “Plaid Patterns” paper. Gorgeous options in this 6″x 6″ paper pack! The girl holding the heart was stamped and then die cut. I used water colour pencils again to fill in the image and adhered it to the card with pop dots.
Owen is obsessed with PENGUINS! Anything penguin makes his day. So when I saw the Penguins in Paradise stamp and die set from My Favorite Things, I knew I just had to buy it. Owen’s card was backed with another beautiful plaid paper from MFT and the penguin was stamped, water coloured and die cut. I love to use dimension in my projects, so the penguin was also adhered with a product that allows it to “bounce”.
The cards were a hit, and that really makes my day!
