ScrapFest Kitchener – It’s a Wrap!

What a great weekend at ScrapFest! Fun, fun, fun from beginning to end. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces and delightful to meet so many new crafting friends! I was privileged to teach a class on Saturday morning with 20 enthusiastic crafters – from those just beginning to learn, to those who’ve enjoyed scrapbooking and card marking for many years. Thank you all for joining me and positively participating for 3 hours of fun! You are all very talented ladies, and I appreciated learning some new tricks and tips from you as well.

I love this class shot showing off the fruits of your hard work on the “Dear, sweet wonderful YOU” butterfly page!

DEAR, SWEET, WONDERFUL YOU

The two page layout for this class involved several techniques that included hand stitching for added texture and creating a felt bow.

Happy Birthday

We transferred the techniques in these layouts to 3 cards showing participants how to stretch their crafting supplies between the two.

My deepest thanks to my best friend Denise and my beautiful niece Brooke, who both worked by my side on Saturday morning to help make the class run as smoothly as possible – you two are the BEST!

To round out the weekend I also enjoyed lots of personal cropping time in the GIGANTIC crop of 315 fellow crafters. If you weren’t there, just imagine a hockey rink full of croppers and all their treasured crafting goodies! The Marketplace filled the second hockey rink and offered everything a crafter could ever want for their next project…or two…or more! I might have done a bit of shopping myself (but let’s keep that just between you and me)!

Another treasure of ScrapFest was seeing old friends who share the passion of crafting. It was truly wonderful to catch up with each other and also get some AMAZING hugs as well. So make some plans to attend a future ScrapFest event. You will leave truly inspired by some very talented fellow crafters! Check out the list of events at scrapfest.ca.
