It’s a Girl

I’ll have to confess right up front. I LOVED making these next two kits! There’s something extra special about babies, especially when they’re your grandchildren. Cuddling with a  newborn is just heavenly. A time to push the hustle bustle of life aside and really appreciate the miracle of life.

It's a Girl w Photos

This 4 page kit is all about celebrating that new baby girl in your life. Whether you’re the Mom, Nana, Grandmother, Aunt or special friend, these pages will help you preserve these precious memories in your life.

Sweet Baby Girl w Photos

Echo Park’s “Bundle of Joy Girl” papers and stickers are the perfect backdrop to document that little girl in your life. This kit includes several extra special digitally cut embellishments to complete your layouts.

Little One w Photos

What are you waiting for? Show your little one just how special she is. Time flies so fast. In just 10 short days, this beautiful baby girl will be turning 5! Loving every minute with you sweet Maddy!

Live, Laugh, Love

This is the second 2 page layout from Echo Park’s “Anything Goes” collection. This layout and the previous “This Moment” layout comprise the full kit. These fun summer papers were the perfect backdrop to create a layout featuring my daughter and her beautiful family. We are blessed to spend so much time together. Our favourite place to be is the family cottage. It is our retreat, our place to play, and our place to share with family and friends. It has provided the setting to live, laugh and love to generation after generation.

These pages reflect spring and summer moments at the cottage. You can see from the pictures that Maddy and Owen have also fallen in love with our special place. They love everything about the cottage (well maybe not the bugs so much). Especially the chance to play, play, play with Mom, Dad, Nana, Bampa and any other family members and friends that join us.

This Moment

It’s been a while since I posted, but I’ve been very busy and have lots to share! This is the first 2 page layout of a 4 page kit using Echo Park’s “Anything Goes” line. I immediately fell in love with the camera patterned paper and embellishments.

I find it a major challenge to take photographs of my grand kids where they are close to looking at the camera. I’m rarely aiming for that specific shot: but come on, at least let me see your face! While vacationing this past summer I hit the jackpot – a decent picture where they BOTH looked up and smiled. Simply AMAZING! Thank goodness for the digital age, and the ability to take hundreds of pictures that ultimately result in a handful of good ones.

But like any other obsessed scrapbooker, I often hang on to most of the extra pictures. Together, they all tell a story. A story of love, love, love and a lot of fun in this journey called life. I decided to use this layout to highlight not only my favourite photo of the day, but all the others that kept us laughing. Make sure you capture it all – the good, the bad and the ugly. Embrace it all. I have a few Facebook friends that have been digging up some of those old and forgotten memories of our past together in public school. While I initially cringed at how I looked in some of those pictures, you can’t deny the fun and love we shared growing up. Warms the heart, especially on these cold winter days!

So here’s to making memories and preserving it for your loved ones.

Sleigh Ride

It’s getting close to Christmas! Time to start preparing and getting ready. The preparation is just as much fun as the big day! Be sure to take pictures of your activities and celebrations along the way. What better way to preserve and personalize your memories than scrapbooking them?

BoBunny has you covered with their incredibly beautiful Sleigh Ride line of papers and products. I had a tough time choosing which papers to work with. You really can’t go wrong with this release.

This kit includes 4 single page layouts and 4 cards. The Noteworthy package of cut outs really takes these layouts to the next level. Top it off with some laser cut snowflakes and an exquisite washi tape and you’ll love the results!

I really enjoyed the rustic feel and look to this line. Each page provided the opportunity to highlight different holiday moments in time.

There’s so many creative opportunities with this paper line. You’ll find plenty of reasons to send out cards to friends and family members this winter. Four cards are included in the kit to get you started.

Welcome to Your New Home

I make approximately 150 cards throughout the year between, birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine’s Day, Christmas, special occasions, or just simply to brighten someone’s day. I really enjoy the process of working on a card specific for the person and personality it’s going to.

Recently our daughter and her family moved into a new home. Actually, an older home that needed a lot of renovations before they could move in. That meant they were in between homes for a few weeks. Not an easy thing for a young family to manage. So when they recently got to the stage of living in their new home (reno in progress!) I wanted to make it special.

This is the card I made for the whole family, Mom, Dad and kids:

Home is Where Your Story Begins

The stamp comes from the Unity Stamp Company. I purchased it several years ago, but it seemed the perfect occasion to christen it. Some simple colouring with water colour pencils and brightly striped background paper completed the front.

I wanted to send cards to each of our grandchildren (Maddy – 4 and Owen – 2). What’s more exciting then getting mail, especially to your NEW home! Maddy’s card was made using Simon Says stamping products; You Have My Heart (stamps and matching dies), and Circle Sayings. I stamped the “Love You’ circle on the cardstock and then used a circle die to cut out the centre. The open centre was backed with My Favorite Things “Plaid Patterns” paper. Gorgeous options in this 6″x 6″ paper pack! The girl holding the heart was stamped and then die cut. I used water colour pencils again to fill in the image and adhered it to the card with pop dots.

Love You Circle

Owen is obsessed with PENGUINS! Anything penguin makes his day. So when I saw the Penguins in Paradise stamp and die set from My Favorite Things, I knew I just had to buy it. Owen’s card was backed with another beautiful plaid paper from MFT and the penguin was stamped, water coloured and die cut. I love to use dimension in my projects, so the penguin was also adhered with a product that allows it to “bounce”.

Your're My Penguin

The cards were a hit, and that really makes my day!

Summer Layouts

About a month ago I had a chance to spend time scrapbooking with my dear friend Denise. Always love to get some quality time together, sharing our love of documenting our lives.

Of course, a couple of favourite subjects for me are my beautiful grandchildren, Madison and Owen. We have endless fun with these two, and are so fortunate to now call them neighbours – they just moved into the house across the street! Here are a few layouts with some of my favourite pictures from this summer.

These Two Melt my Heart

Wow, for the first time every – they are both looking in the same direction and have their eyes open! Don’t even ask how many pictures I took to just get this one shot. It was worth the wait. These two are very busy, and so it takes patience to get a good shot. Thank goodness for digital cameras!

Could You be Any Cuter

Owen was patiently waiting around the campfire for a roasted marshmallow in this picture. Those blue eyes just melt my heart! Added a touch of stitching on this one, I just love the added texture. I have framed layouts of each of my family members in my house and this layout will update Owen’s frame.

Splash

Hands down, this is my favourite picture of the summer. There’s something about those greens and aqua’s that are so inviting. When I saw this shot, I decided to extend the spray from the fountain with some more stitching. A bit of distressing on the polka dot paper, a perfect design from my Silhouette, and the Silhouette pens to do the journaling topped it off. This was such a fun day, this layout will bring back those great memories for a long time to come.

Home is Where the Heart is

Here’s the follow up to the Pebbles “Home Grown” paper line. A fun layout to highlight the people or things about your home that are most important to you. Home represents so many things to us; our safe haven, our place to relax, our place to make and share beautiful memories with those we love.Close Up - Title

This kit will help you highlight all of these things and more. The sticker sheet is full of lovely embellishments. You’ll have lots left over for cards or other layouts.

Birds Nest

You can choose to use 4 – 3″ x 3″ photos on the left hand side, or print one 6″ x 6″. That’s the beauty of scrapbooking – you personalize it your way.

Here’s the full 2 page layout. It provides for up to 8 photos of your choice, and has journaling strips to complete with your personal description.

Home is Where the Heart Is

Here’s the layout complete with pictures and journaling. I’m so happy to highlight most of my family in this layout. My daughter Lindsay, her two cuties Maddy and Owen, my son Sean, and my hubby Bill. I am so pleased to have Sean included in this layout. He’s posted to Edmonton with the Military, and we rarely get to see him. Getting current pictures of him is not that easy, and any time spent with him is precious! These beauties fill my home with love with from near and far!

Bee Happy

This Pebbles line of paper called “Home Grown” is sure to put a smile on your face. The large package of ephemera in this line is stocked full of endless possibilities. The “bees” just spoke to me and provided an opportunity to incorporate some of my other crafting loves.

Needle and thread have always been a part of my life. From sewing to cross stitch, there’s just something about it that I find so relaxing. When I spotted the “bees” in this package, I just knew I had to incorporate some sewing on these pages. I love adding textures to pages, and stitching is an excellent way to do so.

Sneeak Peek Bee 2

The title of this kit just sets the tone, and fits perfectly with the paper and embellishments.
